HMS Victory Shipwright Model
On 13th December 1758, the Board of Admiralty in London, placed an order for the construction of 12 new line of battle warships, amongst them a 100 gun first rate. Remarkably, Nelson was born in that same year. The ship ultimately was built to a length of 227 feet, 186 feet of gun deck, a masthead that extended to 220 feet above sea level, and in order to trim the behemoth, thirty eight tons of iron ballast was added to the port side. This beautiful model was produced utilizing an innovative resin moulding process, which creates a model of amazing detail and accuracy. A superb model with wood planked hull and metal cannons. Has copper tiles below the underline. Size is great for shelf. 19" x 15". (ASC $8.00)
