Cutty Sark Ltd Edition
Built in 1869 (Dumbarton, Scotland) and named for an enticing witch in a Robert Burns poem, Cutty Sark was destined for the tea trade. The route, an intensely competitive race across the globe from China to London, bestowed immense profits upon the ship to arrive with the first tea of the year. This beautiful wood-planked, hollow-hulled model depicts Cutty Sark under full sail. The spars and rigging are amazingly detailed with 21 sails in total, other features include shore boats, hatches and pin rails. A truly special wood model in every way, each is mounted on a plank that has been recovered from the actual Cutty Sark during her current restoration. Each base is individually numbered with its position in the limited edition series of 1869 (launch year). A limited opportunity to literally own a piece of maritime history and help insure its survival - $80.00 of your purchase will be forwarded to the Cutty Sark Trust. 19"L x 11.5" H (ASC $12.00)
