Set up in Chelsea in 1746 by the silversmith Nicholas Sprimont, Chelsea Porcelain was the finest English porcelain factory. In those days Chelsea was a small village near London famous for its good air and market gardens. The pieces in this range are closely derived from the large collection of botanical porcelain acquired over a long period, beginning in 1947, by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Most of the pieces, which date from c.1750, can be seen in the cabinets in the Morning Room, Clarence House. Each item in the range has a different design, limited production, photographed in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, exquisitely gift boxed, authentication card, Old Durham exclusive in US.
